Kids 1/2 Mile Course

The Kids ½ Mile route begins and finishes at Tidelands Park at 8:30am. Kids will run along the perimeter and through the center of the park. This half mile course resembles a letter “S” as it starts at the main start line under the giant American flag. Making a lap around the outer sides of the park to the sidewalk where the final stretch is down the finish line tenant flags.

PARENTS

Parents are permitted to run with their children. The start and finish lines are close enough that, should a parent not run with their child, they can easily view both the start and finish of their child’s run. Please be careful when crossing the park, as you will need to cross the kids ½ mile route when moving from the start to the finish line.

MORE COURSE INFORMATION

WATER STATIONS

There will be one water station available along the 5K route that runners will pass twice and two water stations available along the 12K route that runners will pass twice each.

We’re proud to have DryWater as the official on-course electrolyte for race day! You’ll find DryWater at both water stations along the route and in the expo—perfect for staying hydrated and energized from start to finish.

This event has a strict 90-minute cutoff time and all runners must be off Glorietta Boulevard by 8:30am. All 12K runners who do not reach Mile 3.25 by 7:50am will be asked to turn around early.

12K runners/walkers are required to maintain 14 minute/mile or faster pace to comply with roads reopening schedule.

Additionally, there will be an option for 12K walkers to start at 6:40 AM.

The 12K and 5K begin at the same time. The 5K turnaround will be at mile 1.5. Clear signage and volunteers will voice where 5K runners (or those with blue bibs) need to turn around.

We will be utilizing a “Fast, Fit, Fun” wave start to accommodate the number of participants we are expecting at this year’s event. Your timing tag will activate and start once you cross the start line timing mats. Both the 12K and 5K runners will be in the same waves and will start at 7:00am.

*Please line up by your expected pace/mile time – fastest to slowest. For the safety of others, all strollers and walkers, please stage in the back.

No pets please!

Yes! Strollers are welcome at the Crown City Classic. However, for the safety of all participants, runners and walkers with strollers must start at the back of the pack.
