Dear Community Member,

On Friday, July 4th, 2025, Coronado’s 52nd Annual Independence Day Run, the Crown City Classic, will take place in honor of Independence Day. An anticipated 2,500 runners will participate in a 5K or 12K that will begin at Tidelands Park at 7:00am.

Below is important road closure information to help ease any inconvenience and help you avoid our race if traveling along the running route on July 4th.

ROAD CLOSURE GRID

Glorietta Blvd 4th Street and Ynez 5:30am-8:30am NORTHBOUND LANE CLOSED – Traffic approaching Glorietta Blvd from 10th, Pomona, San Luis Rey, Jacinto Pl, Monterey Ave, Vista Pl, Visalia Row, Miguel Ave, 6th St, and 5th St will be required to make a RIGHT TURN ONLY.
Golf Course Entrance On Glorietta at Visalia 5:30am-8:30am Race staff will meter golfers into parking lot when there is a break in competing runners.
Pomona Ave Hwy 75 and Glorietta Blvd 5:30am-8:30am Full Road Closure – Residents allowed to make a right turn only towards 75.
Strand Way Pomona and NAB Main Gate 5:30am-8:00am Full Road Closure (Coronado Boat House, City Hall, Community Center, and Boat Ramp

*No Parking Advisory – Please be advised there will be No Parking on Glorietta Blvd (golf course side only), portions of Pomona, and all of Strand Way.

5K ROUTE:

5K runners will proceed along the bike path to Glorietta Blvd. Runners will continue south on Glorietta until the course U-turns at Vista Pl, after which runners will return to the finish line at Tidelands Park.

12K ROUTE:

NO BASE. 12K runners will proceed along the bike path, traveling south on Glorietta Blvd until the course transitions to Pomona and Strand Way, PASSING City Hall, the Community Center and the Naval Amphibious Base. Runners will continue approximately one mile further on the bike path before turning around and retracing their steps to the finish at Tidelands Park.
